Van. Maybe not the most exciting word in the dictionary, but the Corsavan is anything but dull. Based on Vauxhall's exciting new Corsa, launched in Autumn 2006, it almost takes a second glance to realise that the New Corsavan is a van at all. With a choice of 1.2-litre 80PS petrol or 1.3-litre 75PS diesel engines - both complemented by a smooth-shifting five-speed gearbox - the New Corsavan is both lively and responsive. Indeed the same engine that now powers the diesel version was voted 'best engine' in the Commercial Fleetworld magazine honours in both 2004 and 2005.

Electric power steering, with speed sensitive assistance on the diesel model for easier manoeuvring, saves weight and reduces fuel consumption. And alongside that, traction control, ABS anti-lock brakes and Vauxhall's Dynamic Safety Suspension combine to ensure predictable traction, cornering and braking in all conditions.

These dynamic characteristics are reflected in the New Corsavan's styling which is unashamedly sporty and coupé-like. So much so, that the casual observer might take a little convincing that the New Corsavan is, after all, first and foremost a working vehicle.
