Astra twintop - Handsome as a Hatch

Almost as soon as it hit the road, the Astra TwinTop won its first major awards, and by June the stunning coupe-convertible had three pieces of silverware to go alongside its innovative three-section roof design.

In Auto Express magazine's New Car Honours, the Astra TwinTop was named top convertible - beating prestige opposition including the Audi A4 Cabriolet, the Volvo C70, even the drop-top version of the new Jaguar XK.

The judges said 'handsome as a hatch, the Astra looks even more striking as a convertible'. And in Diesel Car magazine's Diesel Car of the Year Awards, the Astra TwinTop scooped two more accolades.

The judges named the TwinTop 1.9 CDTi their best Convertible/Coupe 2006 - and it was also runner-up in the overall Diesel Car of the Year category. In the words of commissioning editor Gareth Sumpter, 'my best drive of 2006'.

The TwinTop delivers on every conceivable level - looks, engine, chassis and even performance - and competitively priced to beat all of its rivals'.
