Titchwell Manor

TITCHWELL MANOR
A NORFOLK CHRISTMAS: LOCAL FARE AND GOOD CHEER

Situated on the north Norfolk coast between the small towns of Brancaster and Hunstanton,  Titchwell Manor is an ideal place for a short family break this Christmas, with its miles of walking and nearby leisure and shopping facilities. Titchwell’s restaurant alone is a good enough reason to stay: the emphasis is on local fare, with a fine variety of fish dishes – including crab from Cromer, and lobster fished off Brancaster, then for meat lovers – venison from Holkam. And Henry the hound will need no second bidding. Best of all, though, the chef at Titchwell Manor clearly understands that all this may prove a little too exciting for young tastes, so he has prepared a children’s menu which will keep them happy while you savour the real gastronomy. The bedrooms at Titchwell Manor are located either in the main hotel building or in ground floor accommodation outside the main hotel – by the herb garden or in the traditional cottage, which is particularly convenient for families. Langstone

LANGSTONE HOTEL
FAMILY FUN THAT RECALLS CHRISTMASES OF OLD

Langstone Cliffe Hotel is one of the largest family-owned and run Devon hotels and is set in 19 acres of woodland, which makes a perfect playground for children on the coast at Dawlish. There are extensive lawns and gardens, with spectacular views over the sea. And nearby is the internationally renowned nature reserve at Dawlish Warren. The Langstone opened in 1947 – prior to that it was what the Victorians called a ‘Gentleman’s Residence’, with all its connotations of quiet retreat. Today it has become rather more lively, particularly for younger guests. Santa Claus visits on Christmas Day of course, to hand out presents (for Mum and Dad too) and on Boxing Day there’s Uncle Michael’s Fun Show to look forward to in the afternoon. 27th December is also very busy, with a treasure hunt around the hotel and Dawlish Warren followed by a party after lunch. If you stay until the 29th, there’s even a pantomime! The grown-ups aren’t forgotten with plenty of their own entertainment including quizzes, cabarets and dancing to various bands. So the Langstone serves up a truly relaxing family Christmas and pitches it in a way that involves everybody in the fun, but at his or her pace. It’s the sort of holiday that puts the family back into Christmas. To book or find out more click here or call 01626 868000
