A NEW DIMENSION
Flexible thinking AS new Insignia goes greener
This year an innovative ecoFLEX power plant will join the initial new Insignia line-up of two diesel and three petrol engines. The new-generation 2.0-litre turbodiesel unit will offer lower C02 emissions but no compromise on performance.
Fitted with a standard six-speed transmission, the ecoFLEX will sprint from rest to 62mph in 9.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 135mph. If extra oomph is needed, there’s an overboost system that ups torque to 380Nm for 15 seconds.
A combination of the latest technology and class-leading aerodynamics provides even lower fuel consumption and C02 emissions below 140 g/km. As a result of more than 650 hours in the wind tunnel, where numerous areas were fine-tuned, the ecoFLEX has a drag coefficient of just 0.26, making it one of the most aerodynamic saloons in the world.
INSIGNIA INNOVATIONS
Intelligent Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) New Insignia’s Intelligent AFL headlights change their pattern to suit the location and the weather. Sensing where you need the light most, they can even help you see around corners. And if something is coming the other way, they dip automatically.
FlexRide (Adaptive Stability Technology) Choose a new Insignia with FlexRide, and the driving feel can be changed to match your mood. Select ‘Sport’ mode for a more dynamic, responsive drive or ‘Tour’ for a smoother, more relaxed set-up.
Adaptive 4X4 Specify the Adaptive 4X4 – permanent four-wheel drive system – and new Insignia will automatically distribute drive from the front to the rear wheels as conditions demand. The result is maximum traction for smooth, strong acceleration, outstanding driving dynamics and more stability in cornering. Press the ‘Sport’ button and it distributes additional drive torque to the rear wheels for an even more dynamic feel.
Front Camera System* Select the Front Camera System and new Insignia will read the speed limit signs and display a reminder on the facia, helping you keep safe and legal. Leave your lane without a signal, and it can also warn you – just in case you’re tired or simply not paying attention.
