Following hard on the heels of the multi-award winning Vauxhall Insignia, which saw off all competition to scoop the European Car of the Year Award 2009, comes the first look at the built-in-Britain New Astra. In UK showrooms by the end of the year following an in-the-metal debut at this autumn’s Frankfurt motor show, New Astra takes the Insignia’s sophisticated design language and hewn-from-solid quality into a new sector.  Exquisite detailing includes the wing-shaped light signatures seen here and a neat reversal of the Insignia’s distinctive side blade.
